Supervisors finalized Pekin election results

Another Keokuk County Supervisors meeting came on Monday, with a route agenda awaiting the Supervisors. After receiving the canvass of votes from Jefferson County and Wapello County, the Supervisors were required to canvass the results from the Pekin special election for a second time. According to official results, no major changes were noted in the results. Jared Schultz was ratified as the winner for the director at-large seat, and John Greiner was confirmed as the winner in the director district five race.

Among other action for the Supervisors to consider, the Board heard from Keokuk County Assessor Drew Sanders and Keokuk County Attorney Amber Thompson on moving their office locations onto the main floor, into office space soon to be vacated by the Keokuk County Engineer’s department.

The department will soon be under one roof at the new secondary roads facility, which is in its final stages and expected to be completed by March.
