Shakers, cluckers, kazoos, oh my!

Students who participated in Wilson Memorial Library's summer reading program, had a chance to perform songs, with their handmade instruments, for residents at Keota Health Care Center on Tuesday, July 24.

This summer, Wilson Memorial Library has been hosting a summer reading program with the theme of “Library’s Rock.” At each of the classes, the students participated in a specific activity and then had a craft, which were handmade instruments.

On Tuesday, July 24, the library hosted the final day of the program. The students who were participating got to color a paper guitar any way they wanted to, for the day’s craft. Then the kids practiced a couple of songs, “Old McDonald” and “If You’re Happy and You Know It” which they performed at the Keota Care Center with their handmade instruments.
