News-Review, Keota Eagle announce additional staff hires

The News-Review and the Keota Eagle are very excited to announce the hiring of Holly Van Voltenburg and Dan Duffield. Van Voltenburg started on September 9, and Duffield began his position this week, on September 16. Both will be working primarily out of the Sigourney Office.

Duffield has been hired as Marketing Consultant for the Sigourney News-Review, Keota Eagle, and New Sharon Sun. He will handle all ad sales for the three newspapers. Additionally, Duffield will be the main point of contact for all custom printing requests.

Duffield comes to Mid-America Publishing with five years of progressive sales experience. Before coming to The News-Review and Keota Eagle, Duffield worked at Pella Corporation in logistics. Prior to working at Pella Corporation, he worked at US Cellular in Bloomfield, where he was store leader, as well as Mikel’s Inc, in Bloomfield, where he worked in Car Sales. Duffield has notched several awards, including most valuable salesperson.

“We are very excited to welcome Dan onto our team here in Sigourney. With Dan, I am confident that we have an individual who will be able to serve the public with all of their advertising and custom printing needs. His prior experience will be a big boon to our three publications, and we are confident in his abilities,” said News-Review and Keota Eagle Publisher Charlie Comfort.

Van Voltenburg has started her second week out of the Sigourney News-Review office as office assistant. Holly is the main point of contact for any customer calling or stopping into the News-Review office. Holly handles processing of classified advertising, as well as typesetting, general fiduciary responsibilities, and handling any and all customer inquiries.

“Holly has been a very bright addition to our office. With her friendly personality greeting the general public, Holly has been able to assist our customers right away. We are very excited to have her in our office, being the glue to keep everything together,” Publisher Charlie Comfort said.
