Lady Eagles take early exit in Regional play

Jaime Schulte had one of the two hits for the Lady Eagles and and scored one of their two runs in their 2-14 loss to Tri-County on July 2 in Regional play.

The Lady Eagles saw their postseason hopes cut short as they took a loss at the hands of the Lady Trojans on July 2. Keota managed to score two runs, but Tri-County finished the game out with 14 runs scored.

After giving up some early runs, the offense was able to get a couple back in the top half of the second inning. The deficit still loomed large and the Lady Eagles were unable to get over the hump as Tri-County tacked on five more in the third to end the game.

Jaime Schulte and Mikayla Beatty had the lone hits for Keota with Beatty driving in a run and Sky Weber getting one herself. Beatty started the game on the mound and allowed four hits and four walks in just over two innings while striking out three. Weber finished the final 2/3 inning with six pitches, allowing one hit and struck out one.

    Lady Eagle Leaders: Jaime Schulte/Mikayla Beatty – 1 hit, Jill Schulte/Jaime Schulte – 1 run, Sky Weber/Mikayla Beatty – 1 RBI, Mikayla Beatty – 3 Ks

Everyone will be returning next season with a team that will be considered as still young, but much more experienced. Jill and Paige Thompson will be the lone seniors while a majority of the rest of the roster will be either juniors or sophomores.
