Keota School Winter Fun Review

Mrs. Hart's Kindergarten class loves their new milk jug igloo hangout.

Spring has almost sprung! Although mother nature could still show us who is in charge, it is safe to assume that most of the threat of school delays and closings has now passed. Despite the record snow days and ridiculous winter, the staff at the Keota School never missed a beat this winter and kept things running as smoothly as possible. They even found time to fit tons of fun in the tightened schedule.

            Mrs. Hart’s Kindergarten room is always fun, but this winter there was an extra special addition made by the kids themselves. The students collected milk jugs and used them to make an igloo for their classroom. Just big enough to hold a couple of reading chairs for quiet time, the igloo serves as a privacy fort for those kids who just need to get away from it all.

            This igloo was not the first one built in Mrs. Hart’s classroom. Once before, 25 years ago the students in that class built one too. Preschool assistant, Leah Hayes was in Kindergarten at the time and remembered the fun of the igloo from a student perspective.
