Keota School Board discusses end of year

Keota School Board met in regular meeting on Thursday, May 10. As the school year is starting to come to a close, the agenda has become a little lighter.

During Community Participation, Sheila Horras let the council know that the grant was approved for the high school cafeteria. Some safety concerns were also discussed due to an incident that happened earlier in the week, which was taken care of by school staff and City Police Officer, Doug Conrad.

Action items for the meeting were for many approvals that needed to be made. These included the Senior List for Graduation, which was approved pending all graduation requirements are met, student handbooks were approved with the high school updating the absentee policy as well as book rentals for dual credit courses. Due to a busy schedule for June 7, the June School Board meeting has been moved to June 14 at 6:00 p.m.
