There have been many changes to the ball field at Wilson Memorial Park in Keota over the past several months. The first big change was the new light poles that were put in back in mid April. More recent cosmetic changes, just in time for the first game of the season to be held on Monday, May 7, happened to the concession stand and restrooms.

The concession stand has undergone updates that include being washed and painted on the inside, along with new cupboards and countertops. There has also been the purchase of storage totes to store food and paper products in.

The restrooms were also washed and painted on the inside. There were also new toilets installed, along with handicap grab bars, as well as supply cupboards.

Keota Unlimited, Inc., Keota Ball Association and the City of Keota sponsored the project. Along with these sponsors there have also been local business and community member donations, which has helped make the changes possible.

The improvement project was also possible due to grants received from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation and Keokuk County Community Endowment Foundation.
