Ice Cream, games and summer fun at Wilson Memorial Library
On Thursday, June 28, Wilson Memorial Library held an activity with the Keokuk County Extension Office, led by Sarah Lenz. A group of 20 kids were present for the activity, which was to make ice cream in a bag.
The kids were able to go up in small groups, and put their ingredients in a small zipper baggie, and in a larger zipper baggie they put ice, water and salt. They then placed the smaller bag in the bigger bag and then duct taped the seal to make sure it didn’t leak.
When all of the kids had their bag ready to go, they went outside and started shaking the bags until the ice cream was formed. As most of the kids got done, Karen Greiner led them in a short game of Simon Says.
