Board discusses future improvements

Keota School Board met in a regular meeting on Thursday, July 12, for a short agenda. One item that was brought to the board was by Erin McGuire, representing the Keota Elementary PTO. She came in to bring an idea to the board about painting a mural of a quote on the brick wall outside of the library.

This is a spot where herself and the rest of the PTO agree that all students will have the opportunity to see, as all the students go in and out of the library constantly. The board agreed to put it on the next month’s agenda to discuss and decide if it will be approved.

At the end of the meeting, the board went on a grounds tour with custodian Brian Shifflett, who had a couple of main areas that he has noticed will be needing updates in the near future. In discussing these updates with Superintendent Jim Henrich and the board, some of these updates will probably be needing done by next school year.
